    I was thinking about that too, I think I might gut the inside of my old street bike helmet, the foam inside allows your head to get in and out and then expands to even everything out comfortably. Also, if you do it right you should be able to remove them for washing, so no smelly helmets. I...

    Honestly it is quite difficult for beginners (myself included), in hindsight I would have gone with some easier armour projects first, like shoulder pads for example. But good luck to you if you decide to have a go!
