When you rondo (Mix of resin and bondo) the inside of your helmet for example, you get a smooth surface that is easier to work with when applying the fiberglass. It also helps create a bit harder finished product when you are done! It may be more expensive, but it can help quite a bit!

If you got problem getting the helmet on, it's probably too small! Take in account that you will probably wear some sort of balaclava under the helmet. You might aswell also want to add padding to the inside of it when it's done. So, when you eventually rebuild a helmet, take those into account...
