Three questions regarding first project(s) - Any help is appreciated!

I think everyone else has the questions pretty well covered, but even though it would be heavy I think Paintball in a suit of Halo armor would be just about the coolest thing ever. I don't know if a molded build would be strong enough, but I'd definitely file the idea away for the future. Maybe...

    PAX East

I might be wearing my protoman armor. I say might, because A: It was the first armor I ever made and I rushed it and made a million avoidable mistakes that I am now deeply ashamed of (see my forum picture), and B: I need to remake my arm cannon because the first is so covered in signatures I'm...

skyrim dragon priest mask (pic heavy)

It's looking cool so far! You did a great job on the first one, so I don't imagine you'll have any trouble on the second. I love seeing all the dragon priest builds that pop up around here, it's a badass mask and it's cool seeing how everyone goes about it differently.

    PAX East

I'll be going! I'll be in cosplay, though I won't have any new armor to bring (Save for some skyrim stuff if I can get the casts done), and I'm not sure if want the hassle of going around in protoman armor I did last year. Either way, I'll see you folks there!

Imperius: Archangel of Valor Build Log

Looking VERY excellent, good sir! Can't wait to see how this turns out. Your use of various materials and methods is ingenious and quite inspiring, I'll have to steal a few of your tricks!

"Help!" for: Fiberglassing, Resin, & Bondo

That looks like standard fiberglass resin to me, so it should be fine. Glass Fiber Matting refers to the actual fiberglass, which comes in the form of mats or cloth (I find cloth much easier to work with). That's used for reinforcing the inside of a pep (people usually use that or rondo), and...

    First Foam Armor Warhammer 40K

FOR THE EMPEROR! Have a chapter picked out yet? I notice you mentioned Space Hulk, which made me think of Deathwatch. Keep up the kick ass work, I'm really looking forward to how this turns out! One of these days I'd love to put a heretek together.

My Security Suit Dead Space 2

This is excellent, love the build ! The idea of using Sintra over the EVA foam is brilliance and I'm almost certainly going to make use of it. I'm curious as to how you attached them. Any particular glue or bonding substance?

SCV - Nightmare Pep files. Helmet Added

Very cool! I look forward to seeing the rest of these files!

Praise be to Alduin! Skyrim Dragon Priest Mask WIP

I find apoxie to be really really friendly. It's got the consistency of blu-tack to start, and then transitions into more of a clay. It's non-toxic so you can work it with your bare hands, I coated mine with a little olive oil so the apoxie wouldn't stick to them. It's got ~2 Hours of work time...

Praise be to Alduin! Skyrim Dragon Priest Mask WIP

Had the time to sit down and sand it. Went over it lightly enough to keep that hammered metal look. Next step will be to make a mold. Debating on how to go about that, however. I've done a large amount of research, and I see a lot of really good things about platinum silicone. On the other hand...

"Help!" for: Fiberglassing, Resin, & Bondo

It's hard to say. I've never actually used expanding foam before. I need it to be strong enough to withstand the application of Apoxie to the entire surface (or rondo, haven't made my mind up yet, though rondo wouldn't be as demanding on the structure). I'm a bit broke at the moment, however...

Glad to be of help! I look forward to seeing how this progresses!

Mark VI Helmet WIP [Image Heavy]

Might be a problem with the hosting service. It looks like the tags are fine, otherwise you wouldn't be getting the broken image symbol. Looks like it's coming nice out so far though! It's always good to stick things through, even if you don't think they'll come out perfect, you learn so much...

"Help!" for: Fiberglassing, Resin, & Bondo

This is an inquiry of curiosity. I've seen a lot about filling weapons with expanding foam. I've made a dagger, and since it's pretty small, I was wondering how feasible it is to resin the outside, let it harden, drill a hole, and do a solid fill with fiberglass resin. I need it to be really...
