    M41 Build Started

Use a push button igniter from a gas grill. You can find them in the spring at places like Lowes or The Home Depot for around $10. Drill a hole in your combustion chamber and insert. You may need to use silicon caulk for an air tight seal. Then just push the red button for a spark. No...

    Serious Roadblock!

I would explain to your Mom that this is a project that you are very interested and that you wish to start with the Pepakura helm. Once you've made a couple or so, and your skill has increased, show it to your Mom. When ready to attempt the next stage, resining the outside of the helm, ask...

    Totally New At This

Welcome to the site Shellhead1987. I use a slightly dull Xacto blade. The edge is sharp enough to cut the items out (although I use scissors mostly) but the back edge is dull enough to score a line for folding without cutting through the card stock. Give it a try, it's only paper and you'll...

    Another Noob's Helm

When I first started the helm I intended to look like newly issued equipment but I've decided that Master Chief has been through a lot and carries the battle scars to show it so I'm open to any weathering tips, thanks.

    Another Noob's Helm

Barron, I used to have the ability to out put .PDF but that software was on my old laptop but it's hard drive crashed and I lost everything on it. Sorry, maybe someone on here will be able to help you out.

Beautiful helm, hope mine turns out as good. Who's pep file are you using for your chest? I love the detail.

    Another Noob's Helm

Yeah, I had an unused off road helmet that I got the liner from. I've still got to do some fitting on the liner so that it stays in better.

    Another Noob's Helm

Thanks, Belakor for fixing the links. I'll remember what you said about Angelfire. Yes RadioactiV777, it's DF4L's smooth helm. It came out well except for the stepped area on top toward the back where it warped on me. Oh well, it only took a little Bondo and lot's of sandpaper to fix it.

    Another Noob's Helm

Like so many before me, I'm posting my first PEP helm. It's nearing completion but I'll show my progress. This first pic shows the pep helm after resin and fiberglassing. Original link These next three show the helm now that it's bondoed and primed. Original link Original link...

    What Do You Use?

I use Elmers Glue mostly, but for those tight spots that are difficult to hold, I use Super Glue. Super Glue works great, my fingers are stuck to my pep in no time. :p

    How did you find us?

I learned of this site from thorssoli's post on the Replica Prop Forum. I had heard of Pepakura before but after reading thorssoli's thread I was intrigued about the process. I've always been a fan of the Master Chief though I don't play the game so I decided to stick around and learn more...
