always confused

I've finished my whole armor for my Kat Cosplay. But I've realized something my chest plate is too high and the convention is a couple weeks away and I want to find a way to fix this.

I started with (crappy paint) washable black paint (three coats) then mod podge it. after that paint it the color you want (acrylic paint)(one coat). lastly mod podge it again there will be a chemical reaction with the acrylic paint giving it the weathered look.

So, I was wondering what you all think of my chest plate for my Halo reach Kat armor. (This is my first build)

after the explosion in New Alexandria that was an EMP that shut off their sheilds and I was thinking of having the shard sticking out the helmet or "jab the visor" and top with a soldering iron to give the "welding" burn to the armor

So, I'm building kat's armor from Reach. And I was wondering just be a horrible person I should poke a hole through the helmet and through the visor.

Yeah I keep forgetting to get new blades and thanks for the tip w/ the metal ruler. And also whenever I get edges like that I usually just sand them down.

so I have a little problem. I finished my foam armor set but now I have to worry about glue seams and large gaps. I used all purpose silicone sealant and I don't know if it'll stick I feel like it would just peel off. can anyone recommend any product that is within budget range. I will soon...
