I'd add that making the legs look longer can sort of "stretch you out" visually and give you larger-looking, more heroic proportions. You can do this at the bottom of the leg, by using lifts or platform shoes like Nuts said, or at the top of the leg by making the belt line higher than your waist...

Thanks! For the thighs I cheated a bit and cut in some of the seams and details, especially in the leather area. I just got a dremel, which helps a ton with making smooth indentations and edges, so I've been a little sloppy with the craft knife. The shaping is partially done with a heat gun...
