I needed a quick weapon to replace the worn out shotgun for a convention and Halo 4 release so I thought I'd go with the Assault Rifle, one of the more recognizable and simplistic guns from the first few Halo games.

A good clean start! I kind of wish I had chosen the Reach version when I did mine though I probably won't go through another cardboard build again anytime soon.
Obviously, not a Halo creation but perhaps seeing the creation of foam weapons is helpful. On a side note, I've noticed that more cons are getting stricter on the wording of their weapons policy. Anything that looks realistic, has significant weight, wood or metal pieces are not allowed...
I did this once or twice my first time too. I found that another layer of resin with extra hardener (sets fast and hot) helps cure the poorly mixed resin underneath.
If I can find a store around here that allows costumes I will be going at release. The local Gamestops told me no on any costume with the face covered.
I'll likely go through the thread over the next hour or so but the first things that catch my eye are the excellent weathering and everything about the boots (my worst pieces on my own suit).

Funny that I stumbled across a picture on the interwebs of your armor awhile back and thought, "That's the best looking/fitting Mass Effect armor I've seen". It wasn't until today that I found your build here, excellent work!
