Thorssoli, I have a quick question for you.
If you just vac-form over the fiberglassed/bondo toe cap, will the forces from the vac crush it?
Should it be filled with plaster, foam, or some other type of media?
Heres a picture of that helmet before paint.
All of the damage was done prior to paint and is indeed carved in for real.
Ohhh... and I'm at it again.
The chest and Back are from A1TD, and the unfold was done by Nintendude.
The pack was pulled buy Deadalus Thorn and I did the unfold...
Heres one I've been messing with. It just got done raining and my lense kept fogging up.
All white, but beat up. Still needs the black and gray stripes in the back, a light in the spotlamp,
and visor needs lit some way.
Ok. The mould, ehh mold however you wanna spell it, is finished.
Heres some pics.
I drilled the four holes for the bolts, then seperated the two plaster halves.
Then I cut through the silicone in a wavy fashion to pull it off of the master.
Now on to the casting.
Bondo... good schtuff! Thanks! As for the supplies I buy from here...
I have some more shots for you guys...
Both sides got the same treatment. One good layer of plaster wraps, then on went some plaster.
Another layer of wraps on the flange then again, tied it...
Thanks. I'll keep posting updates as I go.
Here ya go... Credit goes to Deadalus Thorn for the file.
I am going with a plaster mother mould instead of fiberglass. I'm using DAP plaster which is along the same lines as...
I took some pictures outside with something other than my phone. These show it for its true self.
I think I'm gonna reprime and call this done and ready to mould.
My supplies will be here soon. I will post some progress pics when I have them.
Now to finish the vac-table and get on...
