Pepakura Viewer 3 for Silhouette CAMEO

Apparently I am only able to post in the noob forum, so my apologies that this may be in the wrong forum. I also could not locate the existing CraftROBO thread that is out there somewhere. Anyways, in the process of getting a friend started into the prop building world, I found out something...

    RaideR6672 Iron Man Build WIP

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've provided an update. Life has gotten in the way of getting things done. So, here's a couple pictures of the left arm nearly completed. I'm just missing part of the shoulder bell.

I never used PVA, I just used straight up Plasti-dip and then used a spray paint for vinyl and platic. I don't know how much PVA is, or if you have any on hand, but you could always try both methods on test pieces of material.

How porous is the material? My only concern would be if the material is too porous the plasti-dip or latex will either eat way at the material or not turn out smooth. Many foam builders will use High Density/EVA foam for builds because it is a solid piece of material and plasti-dip will coat...

I love seeing foam builds! I will be watching this one. The helmet looks great! The detail you have put in is amazing. What kind of foam are you using?

Quick update. Because of the cold weather, I have put the helmet aside for now. When the weather gets warmer where I can do some bondo work, I will pick it up again. In the mean time, I have been working on the foam armor. I've got more done than I have in the pictures, I just haven't taken...

Update! So, after 8 hours of hardening and 1 hour of sanding, this is where I am: I did end up hardening the mohawk and ears separately. I think it will be the best in the end. I can use bondo and sanding to make sure each piece fits perfectly. As you can see in the next two pictures...

Ironman Foam Builds (info added on page 1 for foam builds) Update on helmet.

I know how that is all too well. Just recently got moving to fast on my build and warped my helmet badly. I was quite irritated that I had to chill for a few days. With as good as everything is turning out, I have no doubt that you will be able work this one out. Everything is looking great!

I live in a condo and am faced with a similar situation. SmoothCast is a very good friend when working indoors, but it is more expensive than Bondo and Resin. If you are into it, EVA foam building is a great alternative as well. There are a lot of great examples to foam building out there...

So, I am getting ready to start hardening the helmet on Saturday, and I've got a questions, and if anyone can provide some advice, it would be appreciated. I read on another post (I can't remember where) that someone has used Mod Podge to seal the outside of the helmet before using Rondo or...

That is actually the question I get the most. The answer: Yes, I can see through the helmet with the lights on. I cut two pieces of white acrylic to the shape of the eyes. I then used some white 4mm craft foam to create a "light pod". Inside they are roughly 1/2 inch deep. That gives...
