Solid as Steel: steel MJOLNIR Mk V

No more progress as of yet other than getting some pieces cut out. Partly posting to say that the project is on hold just a few weeks more until I get some stuff straightened out, and that I got my foam in for the padding/undersuiting and such. Mostly here to drop off a cut and edited version of...

Solid as Steel: steel MJOLNIR Mk V

Thanks again! I get my metal for $7 a sheet over in the ductwork section of the hardware store, sheets about 33 by 30 in. I'll look around too; can't pass up free armor fuel XD To all: Got my visor in. Dang fast too, placed my order Friday night and got it Monday(today). Revzilla, if I ever...

Solid as Steel: steel MJOLNIR Mk V

Eeyup, I mentioned that the only other person I'd heard of using metal was Moz earlier. His one under armor suit harness video has been an incredible asset over the years, from making Megatron, to the Chief, to Solid Snake. However, reading the thread, I see that he used metal plus...

Solid as Steel: steel MJOLNIR Mk V

It's far sharper than it is malleable, my fingers can say that for sure. But yeah, this steel's pretty easy working. Mostly due to how thin it is. Not really sure how thin precisely... tape measure shows something like 0.3 mm. so I guess it to be 20 gauge. It's a tad thicker than 110 lb...

Solid as Steel: steel MJOLNIR Mk V

(\ Only folks I knew who both lived in the area and were up at midnight were working in the store. Perhaps by next time I'll know a few more folks. It'd have been great to have had a cameraman too. I figured by the point I said "synchronized Gangnam Style gance" I'd have lost all credibility...

And now the left arm's done. It's pretty apparent I'm going to need some padding to fill this out. I'm going to use EVA foam from foam mats to give a fuller, bulked out appearance. Also, I've already ordered the visor, so that's covered. This time, I'm gonna be able to see.

Solid as Steel: steel MJOLNIR Mk V

Bah, not worth the trouble. And I doubt he'd try it. The helm fit snug and only had one coat of resin on the outside of it. When he ripped it off, he literally ripped it off. (\ Not so much as you'd think. Comparable to fiberglass, I'd think. It's quite thin metal used for ductwork...

Solid as Steel: steel MJOLNIR Mk V

Hello all. I am robbysheldon. I joined this forum over three years ago, and after a few months and a couple paper helmets I sort of disappeared... Before I go into the project, I'd like to tell just a little about why I joined and then left, and how the 405th is a large contributor to who I...

    Mark V Progress

Well, I am unfortunately of the people who heard all the hype about Halo 3 and then decided to get it. It was later that I got Halo ce for the PC, and it was way better in my opinion.(I have a copy of Halo 2 reserved for me at the local game store, going to pick it up this saturday) Hmm... your...

    Mark V Progress

Looking good. I really like seeing a fellow mark V maker.(I want to get my armor finished for the release of Halo: Reach too) I too tried to make rundown's helmet, but it came out too small, and it is now just a marker-painted gaming helmet. The second time I tried, I used default scaling and it...

    Animatronic Elite Costume

That is so cool! What kind of battery will he use to power it though? And it needs to be able to say: BLARG.

    Mrk V Helmet Complete

Cool helmet, I've been considering smoothcast for awhile. Do you have any other armor finished?(PS: it's a Mark VI ;) )

    Assualt Rifle?

I pepped mine, it's not finished yet, and after pepping I filled it with cotton balls(about 350!) by cutting 1x1 holes in 4 areas, then re-sealed the holes by cutting out cardstock to fit the surface. Then I cut out a hole in the front, under where the barrel goes, for the flashlight and bought...

    Rookie Odst Helmet

Finished with the helmet and chest plate, yes; finished with ODST armors, probably not! I say the helmet is finished because I didn't have the money or time(he asked me to do this about a week in advance) to do it up proper.(shrugs) So I did the best I could with what I had, and got great...
