    Rogueblood's Mark V WIP

Today I finally mounted the visor into the helmet. It took about 3 or 4 hours to complete, but I'm happy with the result. Here's some of the process: I started by shoving the visor into the helmet to see where it made contact with the padding and the visor whole, then I cut the excess so it...

    Rogueblood's Mark V WIP

So I know it's been a bazillion years, but I'm still at it. That whole school, work, life thing got in the way. These pictures are a little old in that I now have everything fiberglassed and am on to le sanding stage. (That's French for sanding) My immaculately clean work space...

    A question about chest armour

From poking around the forums it seems like most people cut them near the pointed parts on the shoulders and mid way on the waist. http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/7138-Thorssoli's-MkVI-Costume-Buildup/page63 Here's Thorssoli's build and a third of the way down page 63 you can see an example...

Lookin good CJ! I really like the orange paint job too. From what I've heard, masking tape or painters tape works well. Just cover the areas you don't want to get paint on with newspaper and tape around the edge of the paper so you get a nice and defined line.

    The Visor

If you go to RidersDiscount, Amazon, or sometimes ebay has good deals you should be able to find something decent for under $40. It's still a decent amount of money, but it might be worth checking out.

Alright! That's some serious progress! I'm glad you kept going with the costume too, I would have hated to see you stop so far in. Hope you feel better soon and enjoy that new car of yours! :)

It took me a little bit to figure out MOZ's helmet too. Once you build the helmet and the visor, you should cut a slit where the bottom of the visor will sit and then slide the bottom in to the slit. Once you've got the visor in, tape it in place so it doesn't move much, then glue it in. After...

Looks very good, the scale seems right to me too! Definitely fits better than mine did, so props for getting it right the first time :)

    Rogueblood's Mark V WIP

Thanks Kory! Cj is correct, they are MOZ's files (Rundown also made a helmet, not the one I'm using though), I am nowhere near skilled enough to create something like that in a modeling program. If you're interested in the files head over to the wiki...
