I've been forwarded some photos of my ODST helmet that are being offered for sale elsewhere. The recaster modified some details in an attempt to hide the origin. It seems that hitting the original with a blow torch was one of the techniques they employed. Man, if I sucked that hard at mold...

It looks like you didn't wash the helmet before painting. Mold release or residual silicone oil from the mold must be removed before paint. Dish soap and a good scrubbing works fine. You're going to have to strip the paint and start over.

Brush on rubbers don't need degassing since bubbles are broken as you brush. You do need to be careful not to introduce air pockets by moving your brush too fast and folding the rubber over itself though. If you are planning to keep the mold for more a couple of years go with a platinum rubber...

No pep for the boots. It was carved out of foam and detailed with Bondo. It will be cast in a hard rubber. Adam, I'm sending you all my paintwork from now on.

I dyed the visor with RIT fabric Dye. Temperature was 145 degrees. The plastic was PETG but it will work on other types. The spray on tint worked but dye worked better.
