First Build: Fallout 3 T45-D Power Armor

Bobblehead mode? Lol Progress looks good. I'm a huge fallout fan so I love seeing anything fallout being made. I tried to pep a pipboy last year but it ended up being too difficult with all the tiny pieces. When I was in costume and people asked where my pipboy was I told them feral ghouls ate...

    First Build: COG Armor

Worked again all day so didn't get much done on the costume :( Yeah, working on a Sunday sucks! Anywho, I managed to bevel the edges on the thigh pieces and got a bit of work on the belt done. Here's a pic of the belt and codpiece as they sit now. The centre of the belt will glow blue when...

"Help!" for: Fiberglassing, Resin, & Bondo

Drywall compound is very thirsty and would definately need to be primed. The reason the color would likely be due to the different colors between the compound and the putty. If primed all the same color first it should match. I made a portal gun using drywall compound to smooth it as it was...

    First Build: COG Armor

Thanks :) I worked a ton today so I didn't have much time to work on the build, but I did manage to make some progress on the cod piece. I shaped the base plate out of foam, bevelled the edges and curved it a little. Then I cut out some foamies based on the general shape of the plates on the...

"Help!" for: Fiberglassing, Resin, & Bondo

Bondo is the leading North American brand of auto body filler. It's a two part system with a putty and cream hardener that when mixed together will turn hard. Any automotive supply store should sell the equivalent, just ask for Auto Body Filler. Isopon p38 is what a quick google search came up...

    First Build: COG Armor

The inside cavity of this thing looks massive. Try maybe a 10% increase in scale? Right now I'm working on making a belt and cod piece from foam. I know that there are pep versions of these but I'm just not a fan of them.

About to start work on a helmet.

It's really all about practice in regards to the pep. My first attempts at legs for my costume were horrible compared to the second set I made. You may want to try and finish that helmet anyways. I find that having a completed piece (regardless of shape) is helpful when making another. I pulled...

    First Build: COG Armor

I just checked and I have a 41-42" chest. The bottom opening is around 42" and that (aside from the neck) is the narrowest part. Of course if you trim some of the bottom off you can add a few inches on. Here is a pic of the size of the chest in relation to myself if this helps:

    First Build: COG Armor

I used the default scale that came with the pep and it looks like it should fit fine. I almost got into it last night, but was afraid of ripping the paper, I'll experiment once I harden it and see if I can manage to trim some to fit my shoulder in. For reference I'm 6' 215lb with broad...

    First Build: COG Armor

Since I've completed the pieces I'm going to make from pep I decided to start looking at the other pieces I'll need. First stop? Thighs. I had some foam mats left over from a combat vest I made for my nephew to play around in and figured I'd use that. First step was designing the thigh piece...

About to start work on a helmet.

Going the clay route seems like it would be a ton of work! I would check out the "How to make a helmet from pep to finish" series of videos: http://pepvids.cz.cc/. There are 19 in total and he makes his with the intent of casting. There is also a thread for these...

"Help!" for: Fiberglassing, Resin, & Bondo

I'm about to harden my first project and am torn between Rondo and Fiberglassing. I like the idea of rondo because it will flow into all the small areas and I don't have to worry about having a bubble as I could with fiberglass. I'm a little concerned with the durability of it though. Would a...

So I guess I'm the one who has to point out the autoerotic asphyxiation joke staring us in the face? :P

    Movie scripts

^^^^ What he said. I go to school for TV/Film and writing a script can take a long time. Something as simple as a 30 second commercial often takes hours.
