Thanks for the tips, I was only using 80gsm paper for the tester since I didn't want to waste the 200gsm cardstock I bought. I do want to use Kirrou's greaves and shoulders, so I guess I'll start off using Hugh's knee plates.

Wow, that's come out really nicely! Only problem I can spot is that the paint makes it look quite plastic-ish. Then again, since your only point of reference is actually a plastic model...

Don't worry about the lack of detail so far, I'd bet you impressed quite a few people on Halloween. Good luck with the improvements/future projects.
