    Halo 5: Asset Releases

I always work in quads, its just a good practice to get into, also makes subD'ing cleaner. Probably also did some modification of the topology somewhere, just can't remember where specifically. The textures are decidedly not high def, they're only 1024 x 1024. Oh and to answer your other PM...

Modeling Halo 5: Guardians M6H2 Magnum

No worries. A tip with netfabb is generally not using it :P Unless your edge flow is really tight to begin with it tends to mush things beyond the point of being pretty. I've turned to just manually doing most of what netfabb does these days, ensures edge preservation.

Modeling Halo 5: Guardians M6H2 Magnum

Hey Rahl, don't suppose you'd be willing to upload a copy that hasn't had the subsurf divisions applied? I'd love to take a crack without having to remesh.

MY 3d Printed M45 Shotgun Build

Recommend replacing whatever counts as your Z axis threaded rod with an ACME trapezoidal rod. Often listed as 'Lead Screw ACME Tr8*8 300mm' for the 8mm versions on fleabay etc. Just got rid of the crap rods that came with my OrdBot the other day, z wobble is gone completely. Parts are even a...

anybody work with the printrbot 3d printer?

Unplug extruder cable, unplug any other axis motor, plug extruder cable into the other port. Attempt to move extruder motor via the control for the axis you put it on. Should answer the wiring/motor being dead question.

    Master Chief's secret

The way I understand the 'geas' from the forerunner trilogy is a quite vague genetic memory. Used to imprint the Humans who lived on the array for a time with information that would lead, eventually, to them rebuilding a spacefaring society and creating fairly specific technologies...

    3d printing?

If it's the one I think it is, probably best to ask the modeller first. He's a good bloke. But yeah, most modellers don't really take well to having their stuff used for commercial purposes without permission or financial compensation. Its a weird sort of deal.. 3D printing is more or less an...

    3D Printer Help

Is it possible to 3D print a whole suit? Yep, it'll take a lot of material and time but it's possible. And what's a good 3D kit to get, I've been googling around and came across some but there's so many I was wondering if anyone here has one? Are you willing to spend time frelling around with...

    Regarding Destiny Assets

Ugh, I've been bashing my brain against that website for a couple of weeks now. Sneaky buggers must've known that people would want to grab the assets. I really don't get it, it's not as if the assets they have are their IP... Why not share it? Hmpf.

Show us your 3D printer/ CNC machine!!!

Hmmm, if I'm not mistaken the Dimension 1200 uses ABS correct? In which case you're stuck with the thermoplastic properties of that material. ABS is used primarily as an injection moulding material, so essentially it was designed to work well in high ambient temperature scenario's where...

Show us your 3D printer/ CNC machine!!!

On the note of leaving printers going overnight or whilst out.... Beware your 3D printer (They can cause fires) (Page 1) — Solidoodle Discussion — SoliForum - 3D Printing Community Not worth the risk, IMO. And given that a printer is basically a flammable bomb with extra plastic fuel...
