    Please Help!

In the UK we call the 2 types, mat (thick) and tissue (thin). Might not help you but just in case you don't find cloth in the stores you frequent.

    Ice065's Armor

When you placed the support struts in did it straighten the slight warp on the brim. I had a similar warp post glassing which if you want to achieve perfect symmetry is a nightmare to sort, so much so I think I'll build a new one as it would be easier than fixing with Bondo. Everything looks...

    My Mark Vi (wip)

Nice folding there, I think I may redo my helmet this year as the warping I got on the brim drove me mad trying to fix at the bondo stage and I'll not be happy unless its as square as you've got yours. Good look when you resin and glass it, should be an excellent base.

    New Years Costume

Thanks for the replies on the HD files guys, much appreciated. Is there any reason why these aren't on the wiki? Thanks for all the comments on the suit too, it isn't one of the greatest out there obviously but in a small town the effect was still impressive :) . I would imagine to build to...

    New Years Costume

Everything above the waist was HD but I didn't have the HD files available for the bottom half other than the boots and I thought that was going a bit overkill :D . Boy was I glad the legs were medium detail or my index finger would have dropped off from all the cutting and scouring. Just as...

    New Years Costume

Well having started making a helmet way back in September I rather foolishly decided at the beginning of December to have a go at making a full chief suit in time for the New Year fancy dress party we have each year. I knew it was certainly going to be pushing it fitting what time I could in...

    Sick Day Accident

Its hard to be sure from the poor picture but it looks like your Bondo layers are a little on the thick side. Its better to build up in thin layers to retain more detail and also its easier to sand and see blemishes. If you can get a better shot of the helmet sometime it would be nice to see...

Looking For A Second Opinion - Cutting Acrylic...

Not done much work cutting acrylic since school but back then we used a bench jigsaw and obviously taped the edges of each cut. Once thats done you just buff it up with a polishing wheel on the dremel. I think if you clamped the acrylic to a bench then you could do it freehand with a jigsaw...

Warthog Is Back! Thanks For Donations I Can Start A Little!

Not much but best of luck m8. Thanks for the thanks :) .

    Recon Helmet Wip & Poll

I would be tempted to resin the outside as normal then glass the inside but not the area you plan on cutting. All the extra support you can get is best to make sure any warps are kept to a minimum. If you have access to a dremel then a cutting blade would trim through it easy, thats what I...
