Should I try to ake the helmit look more like a helmit shape, instead of all pollygonal, or just add rersin and work up. I was going to paper mache it first... any thourghts?

Anything I can use other than resin?

So iv just started a practice run on a sparten helmet, not masterchief though, and have used the paper tabby blueprint things. I coudn't be bothered to go buy any cardstock so i glued the prinouts to cereal boxes and cut them up. Its worked fine, just some of the tiny folds can be tricky.
