i can definetly say that that method will work, but your mold wil deteriorate much faster than using silicone made for moulding.
a normal mold would last you around 60 copies
this wil maybe make 5 before major tears and cracks will show up.
but hey, you can always make a new one.

i mostly use 5 and 7mm
for really big parts like the thighs, 10mm
for details ontop 2mm
i also use the grey EVA foam as this is higher density and allot stronger than the black / floormats

anyway, the silicone mold was a success yesterday, so i began to make some bases in plastic,
great sucess, the piece looks awesome (a bit graveled, but it gives extra grip and the paint will stick better)
