    swatdojo's finished armor

yeah i had planned to paint details onto the armor but i had just barely finished spray painting the night before so i didnt have time to paint, fix mistakes, etc, to make it look the best i could. it was night anyway, so i figured it would be ok for that day and just work on it some more later

well i had bought a different kind of visor so it didnt bend as easily. when i tried to just press it forward it would pop back out immediately

i used a coffee can because it had the sturdiest rim. i used it to hold the curve of the visor. otherwise it was too wide and wouldnt fit

    swatdojo's pepakura armor

I'm nearing completion of fiberglassing all my armor (i think theres like 4 more pieces left) so i figured i'd put a pic up of my helmet so far. Its not done though. i've only bondo'd the top and the bill. and thats not the color i'm using either. just for demonstration purposes

    Cardboard Armor Advice

If you're planning to build cardboard armor (or in this case a helmet) try to build on something that's already in the semi shape of what you want it to look like. before i found these forums about a week ago i was already beginning to make my armor out of cardboard. for the helmet i ended up...

    swatdojo's pepakura armor

well i was using latex gloves and they are a bit annoying. i'm not sure if anyone else had to do this but when i got my visor it was too big. so i had to cut a coffee can, bend that, and then glue it to make it same shape as the helmet. also how are you supposed to attach it to the...

    swatdojo's pepakura armor

actually so far the worst part for me has been trying to fiberglass... it unravels, is difficult to get to stay on corners, it bunches up and strings of it get everywhere. i also think my helmet is warping just a tiny bit (it's a bit wider than normal) but that's ok for now because i've only...

the torso is in two parts: the back pack and the chest plate. in this pic the four points are connected just with some scotch tape for demo purposes. but when i'm done fiberglassing i'm going to keep them together with buckles at the four points thanks for the support!

yeah actually that was the piece i did the cutting alterations to right before i took that picture so i hadn't really measured to see where it should fall yet. i fixed that part today.

    cooling fans question

hey i'm new to the forums and i'm almost done building my pepakura's but i have a few questions how do you attach the fans to the batteries (i'm going to use small computer fans unless there's another way to do it)? because most computer fans come with the 4 or 3 pin sleeve connectors. do you...
