Questions on how to use the restroom conveniently while armored.

i bought my morph suit for Milanoo.com in China. While there are many disaster stories from this site (you probably know a few), They do get some of the easy things right, that are prepackaged, I believe. Anyway they offer morph suits where they will put a zipper in the crotch, if you wish...

kitnip's Halo 4 Master Chief foam build with custom paint scheme and undersuit

Thanks a heap for that link. I've been agonising over the smaller details, but seeing someone do somethimg so well that had variations on it, and streamlining the process is very helpful and encouraging! i may just get it done in time for the target date of my local Con after all!

kitnip's Halo 4 Master Chief foam build with custom paint scheme and undersuit

Kit, what is the .pdo file you are using for your torso? mine looks quite abit different to that. I'm using the foam template one from the H4 Database zip. Did you cut out each individual piece as per template and glue them together or did you just work out your own template, by sketch, and by...

kitnip's Halo 4 Master Chief foam build with custom paint scheme and undersuit

awesome work, very useful and inspiring. thanks for sharing all the tips! Kitnip, what ref photos did you use for this? (I mostly finished the thighs and my details seem to differ) mine seem to be more game based and thus have slightly different details. I'd love to see yours, the build seems...

    A really nice job, mate!

    sticky tape

I've had a bit of success with sticky tape. Usually I just resin one side (if both sides taped, or resin the side without tape first) let that dry, then resin the other, tape seems to hold Ok if you don't the entire thing through. Haven't had any collapse on me yet. Not as tight as Hot glue...

Zat German's Halo: Reach - Foam Armor Build WIP

Looking Good, Zat! I'm still thinking about how I'm going to approach my build, which will likely be a hybrid of different materials.

    Foam Armoring

Yes I agree with Zat german, it really isn't too much work to sand the foam down (by my experience) and will likely save you heaps. It should sand fairly easily. I've done similar jobs with just hand sandpaper. Provided your willing to take your time a bit, you should get a really nice job...

*The Official* Halo Reach Pepakura Files Thread

Yeah, this a real bugger...I've had the same problem. the best way to work around it is to measure your body part, say, height of the piece you want, then look carefully at the height of the piece in the pep file. I did this with the pelvis. Now remember in most cases this will be from the...

    so are we nerds?

Who the hell cares what other people think? Enjoy yourself and outlive the hell out of those who think you should be the same as what they imagine the rest of the population is like. They're not even smart enough to realise they are missing out on so much.

    "Help!" for: Papercraft or Pepakura

I use the 250gsm / 110lb cardstock and a sharp pair of scissors. I also double the size of the tabs, so I have twice as much area to work with for glueing (much easier). I don't bother to change the pep file, just cut a bit more around the tabs when I cut them out. I just use the end of the...

    Foam Armoring

No intention to dispute what you are doing, Zat. I think your work is Great! I was just musing that personally I wasn't too worried about a matte finish. I wonder if somehow putting a layer of polystyrene or something over the top might not be simpler or easier

    Foam Armoring

I did 2nd coats of resin on my foam test pieces from earlier. Resin on bondo is nice and shiny and hard, BUT it will crack if you bend it too much. Ok for fine detail and areas that won't move much. 2nd coat by itself just makes the foam more shiny. Personally, I'm really wondering if a...

    foam ODST/NMPD

Hey Frosty, the helmet looks pretty good. I picked up my dremel from Dick Smith, and if you go through all the accessories and sanding bits, DSE has seperate sanding bits you can buy. Did you see any drill bits and sanding bits at bunnings? what kind of filler are you using at the moment? I'm...
