    - Hall of Honor - Post Pics of your finished armor/weapons

My first job. The undersuit is a lycra bodysuit that I latexed and added craft foam to then latexed over that as well. It is pretty accurate. The rest is pepped and fiberglassed with epoxy based resin instead of polyester (the fumes kill me even with all proper gear on). I'm going to redo a...

    Good Enough

The only parts I could easily scale down that I know of is the shins. The thighs barely fit, the shoes fit perfectly.

    Finishing Q's

The strapping and 1-1/2" buckles were cheaper at ace hardware for me than at any of these for some reason. Like half price or less.

    Primer Question

    everything this guy said!

    Good Enough

You WILL sweat in latex, but it's a cool sweat. Not uncomfortable once you get used to it. The thighs barely fit as it is and the boots are the perfect size for my feet so there isn't much I can do about those. I AM going to make the HD shins though and probably slightly smaller than those...

    Good Enough

Yeah. Most parts need a lot of bondo work (not going to use bondo. Epoxy resin and talc powder, but same idea). I just really didn't have time before halloween. Now I'm gonna go back and make it all nice.

On A Hunt For Nanosuit Fabric

I do not have a tutorial, but I would be happy to make one later this week. It isn't very hard to make and can make a VERY realistic undersuit. I thought of it a few months ago and made it in a night or two last week. :-)

On A Hunt For Nanosuit Fabric

I have made a latex jumpsuit. It is pretty slick and easy to make. Details are easy to add. The white stuff on the pics is baby powder. When I washed it off it's black and nice looking. Pretty comfortable to wear, but keep in mind you WILL sweat in it even when you're cold.

Absolutely fantastic :-) Great suits. They have a great dad!

It's Halloween, What Did You Do?

    I danced. Badly.

    A Small Question?

If you're going to be cutting for any extended period of time I highly recommend getting an ergonomic xacto :-( my thumb starts hurting on the standard handle after a couple of hours. Safety glasses are a great idea when cutting out cardstock. I've had many (just about every one it seems like)...

Fiber Glass An Resin Mix Question

This stuff is used the same way bondo is. As a filler. And since it doesn't have a thickening agent it can sag and cause drips and all other kinds of weirdness. I'd only use this if you really knew what you were doing. I've used milled fibers and they're really handy if you know how to mix them...

Using Spray Adhesive To Hold Down Fiberglass Cloth.

I tried this last year when I was first starting out. Made bubbles underneath that were horrible when the whole thing was sanded. <shrug> definitely not good for me.

    Good Enough

I want to smooth many parts out, redo the shins in HD, finish the energy sword and um. That'd be good enough for now.

The undersuit is made of a lycra bodysuit coated in latex, then craft foam cut out into the detailed parts was glued on with more latex and the whole suit was covered a few more times. It is skintight and actually surprisingly comfortable to wear.
