    Tutorial: Using Bondo for Detailing

I fiberglassed the outside of my pepekura. It turned out ok (check my gallery pics) It gives a rough finish that needs bondo(filler) to smooth out if you don't like the angular look. I kinda like the rough finish myself it makes the armor look well worn and patched ( Battle tested LOL ). My...

When you print from pepekura it ask's if you want to rescale to fit the paper.... ALWAYS SAY NO! or it will screw up the scaling. I found this out the hard way. Wombat.

    Pepakura Fiberglass and Smoothing Tutorial

OK Here's the skinny on safety: On a scale of 1 to 10 Fiberglass is about a 7 or 8. 1. Fiberglass Resin (Polyester) is reasonably safe but may cause skin irritation. 2. The catalyst "MEKP" IS VERY DANGEROUS ! see the "Material Safety Data Sheet" (MSDS) at...

    Pepakura Fiberglass and Smoothing Tutorial

I use "USC Feather Rite" filler, I find it's much cheaper. As for the Polyester resin used for fiberglassing... I use the Fiber-tek Unwaxed (not glossy) resin... again much cheaper. The unwaxed type is better for multi layers, no sanding needed. The waxed type is for final glossy finishes...

I used the Reg Expanding Foam... Big Mistake LOL I had to cut out about 50% of it with a bread knife. I just put the foam in the Peak and a bit at the back. After trimming the helmet fit pretty snug. I just added a small circle of 1/2 inch soft foam sheet on the top and sides (near the...

    Membership Stats (Interesting)

I think you should have a "Hall of Fame" for members with full armor to post pics of them selves. Anyone under "Legal Age" should be OK with "Parents Concent" ( A check box will do) so there shouldnt have to be any age restrictions. The stats are intresting... only 18 females eh.... Maybe...

    resin help

Hey Everyone ! You need a resperator with and "ORGANIC SOLVENT" Cartrige RATED "OV". This is the ONLY type that will filter out the fumes. An N95 is only good for filtering out dust. It is fine form sanding but NOT for resining. The Resperator should cost about $20-30 and the cartrige will...
