I know this will be all over the internet in about... 5 minutes... But this is a pretty snazzy video from current.com that all the 501st members on this forum should enjoy :)

I just can't quite figure out who made it or why...
Ooh- A Yautja I see. Good call :) How are you going to get the height? (this is assuming you aren't 8ft tall to start with... who knows?)
That helmet looks like the Celtic Predator from AvP 1...
It is pretty sweet armor... I'm pretty sure that once more references come out (probably when the game does) people will start making it. As of now, there's no really good "all around" reference to the marines.
Oh- Just to clarify something, Kevlar does not deflect bullets or shrapnel. What it does is diffuse the force over a greater area (because of the layers and weave) and slow the fragments to the point that they do not penetrate very far. It is more effective against wider objects- Narrow weapons...
Be careful of Gas Masks bought on Ebay- Many of these are only for sale because they have EXPIRED CARTRIDGES. An expired cartridge does not protect from anything, and in fact can be hazardous.
Make sure to check the expiration dates on the cartridges before using them. If you are buying a mask...
Yeah- when you consider that the marine helmet isn't exactly... small, it isn't skinny. just tall, so it throws off the proportions.
And you better believe I'm making this as soon as it's released. Or did I say that already? Ah well- just bears repeating.
So far as starts go, it's great. You got the shape down pat- Just needs a finisher. Radioativ777 Has it right- Another week of work, and it'll be showroom quality :)
If only I could work in wood as well as you did...
In a word- Gorgeous. The color scemem looks good, the finish is smooth and professional, and the details are... well... Detailed.
I am also working on a CQB helm- Best looking one in the game, imho... And you have really inspired me to get off my keister and finish the bloody thing.
I think...
Maybe they're going for the same thing as the 501st- If I am correct, (and I'm sure there are 501st members in the 405th to validate this), the 501st was given the "okay" by Lucasfilms to wear their outfits, but not to sell them. So the 405th may be getting the same endorsement.
That, or...
