Simple Halo Reach - Foam Build

Thank you so much! And it's true, too many burns from the hot glue and a few from the bondo, lol. And I have some good news!! I did make this suit for my school to replace the old one. Because of that, I go to open houses at my school to show off what an Engineering student is able to...

Simple Halo Reach - Foam Build

I thought so too, haha! I'll see what I can do because half of my college so far has been welding, I might be able to make multiple pieces and just weld them together. Could be easier but I got to make sure it's okay with the school first. Thank you! and that's great to hear, I can't wait to...

Simple Halo Reach - Foam Build

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it! I actually thought that for the next suit I make, I'll try 3D printing. My school has 3 printers and I get a free copy of Solid Works for a year. We might have gotten a white light scanner too to scan a model of my body, I'm not sure... But I think it'd be...

Simple Halo Reach - Foam Build

Once finished, I moved to the shins. This is where I would have moved to the biceps, but I despise trying to make Halo Reach biceps, don't know why, I just do... But instead, I finished the crotch plate. After the crotch plate I went ahead and knocked out the boots and knee guards just...

Simple Halo Reach - Foam Build

Hey guys. So I've been a member of the 405th for awhile but this is the first time that I'm posting. To give a little background, I'm a full time college student with a part time job and a girlfriend who I give the rest of my time to. In my spare time though, I've managed to have three suits...

That's all with a band saw??? Dude that's epic!!!! Band saw it shall be then! Actually though, I found someone selling a wood burner kit. And one of the attachments is like an x-acto knife blade. Does anyone have any experiences with these or think they would work as well as a hot knife??

That's pretty epic dude!! Keep up the good work! And what could replace a hot knife? I managed to get the pads (only place I could find them was Lowe's for $20 a pack of 4 >.>) but I really am not sure on how to cut them. . . I do have a box cutter but I hear that the blades will get killed on...

    Foam Armoring

OK being me, I have to ask a bunch of questions xD Also, Freaking amazing tutorial/thread!! This stuff looks pretty good, soft, comfortable, durable, etc. so instead of pepping the armor I'm going to work on, I would like to use this method. I'm going to try to make ODST armor out of this...

    405th Mentor Program

Apprentice reporting ^_^ lol Having a mentor to help me out with all the questions I usually ask on a daily basis when I'm not working on the armor would be great. To give a little background, I'm working on pep-ing ODST armor, and then using both fiberglass resin and liquid plastic to make it...
