Well my next idea would be using buttons, like the snap on kind just spaced out underneath. That might work.

Have you tried just using some Velcro on the underside? its what i used on the ab/chest plates of a fett costume i made once.

Really nice touch on the caboose armor, :D and whats even better is the new episodes he has the Mark V armor. Im finishing up the Pep stage on my first suit of armor right now. And honestly i had been wanting to paint it like Grif instead of the standard "chief" set. And this thread is tearing...

I really like this idea, and if someones worried about aesthetic value, maybe there's a way you could use the detailing lines in your armor to sort of conceal the strips/leds until you turned them on. Also get a speaker with the recharge sound file playing when you do that. Really hope to see if...
