Jorge Build: Update 14. Got so the pieces for the left forearm sanded for the first time, bonded together and primed. Now for more sanding and spot putty. Also started work on the left thigh armor. First two images show after and before priming.
Left bicep and plate have been successfully clearcoated and bonded together. Everything went as planned thankfully. I left the inside of the bicep unpainted mostly so that I can bond the padding directly to the plastic instead of the paint. It will create a stronger bond in the long run. Colors also look darker then they actually are due to lighting.
Jorge Build: Update #12. Left bicep paint complete. Now to clearcoat both the left shoulder plate and bicep then bond them together. I'm excited to say the least
Both the left bicep and shoulder plate have been painted green. Still have more sanding to do on the bicep piece before final coat but it's getting there. Shoulder plate just requires, red, white, detail work and clearcoat
One more round of sanding then top coat for the left bicep. Left shoulder plate is still curing until Wednesday where it will be masked off then green, red, white, and titanium silver top coat will be applied over a period of 4 days allowing a day for each color to cure before the next layer is applied. All then followed by detail work, bonding the two pieces together, some more detail work, then clear coat.
Next step in the suit is Jorge's left shoulder plate. All bonded together, gap filled, sanded, and now filler primed. Now to fill in the remaining low spots and sand again.
Current state of Jorge. I unfortunately had a major set back with the helmet paint job with the clear coat that I applied blushing out across the whole surface turning it almost entirely white. Moral of the story, don't chance painting in humidity. Had to sand the whole thing and restart.
