Well i hit my first snag, I ran outta glue so i went to buy more. bought the same brand and every thing but the new glue just wont hold.... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuu! * Insert Rageface here*

try tacky glue it grab almost instantly like super glue and still give you some time to move the tab around like white glue.

I have beenusing Super Glue. But I find that the mixtire of the glue is inconsistant and just doesnt wanna bond at all any more. It was working so good then just stopped! I wonder why the change from one tube to another?

Honestly, hot glue has worked wonders. i have ample time to position my piece before it sets. I bought a low-temp glue gun at Wal-Mart for $2.47 plus tax and 100-low temp sticks for $4.97 lus tax. $8 overall and I'm MAYBE halfway through the sticks and almost done pepping.

If you got it at the dollar store, that is why. Otherwise, just take it back, bad batch or something.

I bought it at a specialty store. I did return it and they gave me a new set. So back to crafting. I got the theighs done today but the damn glue issue slowed me down. Half done the helmet too! XD

Ok so having a bit of a scaling issue. I thought I scaled every thing correctly but upon further investigation. I have scaled the damn thing 100% incorrectly. Every thing was fitting good, but then upon a final fitting of the peices i have put together....
They are WAY to ******* big....... Any one have any suggestions on how to scale properly.

I have scoured the interwebs and the forums but every time I go to scale it itn Pep. It all chages with every field i type in. It will not let me put my EXACT Height and width that i need it to be...

Starting all over from peice 1 again.. THIS SUCKS! :(

Forty-five days is a bit ambitious, because you never know what kinda problems you'll run into, such as scale. That's really stinks you have to re-do everything. But still, I wish you luck, and I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Also, try not to swear on here, it could get you in trouble.

Just measure the length of the body part you are making. The width and depth stay proportional to the height in Pepakura to keep the piece proportioned (obviously). The fact is, you are not as muscular as a Spartan. None of us are. As long as the length of your piece is right, you can bulk up with your undersuit and padding.

What I suggest, and how I did it, is build one whole side of the suit first (the pieces there are two of). Then, once you know the right gauntlet, for instance, fits, you know what size to make the left and you haven't made TWO pieces that don't fit.

Good luck, man, hope that helps.

Ok so ISSUE 1: GLUE

That has been solved. No longer using super glue. I would love to THANK THE PERSON who recomended Tacky Glue. It was only $2.50 and I got a Massive bottle that would do like 5 costumes worth. It works way better and is not messy at all! Thank you.

ISSUE 2: SCALING

Scaling has been solved thanks to Excallibacca, I took your advice and scaled it the way you told me to. And BOOM! Perfect fit! Here are some photos of the before and after to see the difference!

THIS IS THE BEFORE

THIS IS THE AFTER

As you can see the after fits WAY more Snug to the bare skin and will fit nice and tight with the padding I will be installing!

HERE IS A SIZE BY SIDE: Of the before and after.

( Left = Before ) ( Right = After )

Once again Thank you! I can now cruise like a champ on this. Cheers and here I go again! Gonna do 3 more peices today!

Sounds like me. I'm getting dinner then I am knocking out the right boot and the codpiece before I go to bed. Then, I'll just have to figure out my thigh sizing and pep will be 100%.

OK!

Left and Right fore arm both Re-Pepped! Sized to actually fit!!!!

Lemme know what you all think? I am starting BOTH biceps tonight and will have them BOTH done!

Looking good so far. I wish you all the more luck on you're 45 day plan.

Thank you I just finished the fore arms, Perfectly sized to boot. I will be posting the picture shortly. As well I am starting the hand plates so I will post all six peices at the same time on the update in about 2 hours! :)

OK SO 2 DAY'S IN TO RESCALED PEP WORK AND THIS IS WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR.

Left & Right Fore Arms, Left & Right Biceps, Left Shin.

Not too bad if I say so my self for 2 days pep work. As I am also half way done the Right shin too. I wanna make sure I have all PEP work done by the end of the week. So I can spend all of October Resining, glassing and bondoing. As That will be pretty time consuming. My girlfriend is 100% Supportive of me working non stop on this, strangely enough she is really excited to see me get this done. If I can get it done in time. I may Pep up a Grunt costume for my 5 month old daughter! ( The grun costume was her idea! BEST GF EVER OR WHAT? )

Here is the left shin. I have it PERFECTLY scaled and tryed it on and every thing. I AM SUPER HAPPY WITH IT

Here is a picture of every thing I have done in 2 days! Since I had to restart every thing. I noticed it takes a little bit longer with smaller pieces becaue the Tackey Glue isnt as strong as the super glue, so gluing time slows down a little bit.

So any input right now would be VERY VERY helpful. Either on ways to improve my pep work or should I just keep going the way I have been going?
