Recently I found out that Fred Phelps is coming to Emporia, Kansas. As a co-admin hosting the event to anti-protest him, I will be there in full Spartan glory. I'll make sure to post pictures of the event, however I have a request.

To Spartans of Kansas!

Monday, February 16th, at 2:00 pm, the city of Emporia will be holding an anti-protest. I urge any members of the 405th who are able to make it to this event to show up and defend our right to live free!

What the heck is he doing there anyway? I mean, Wiki says historically he and Kansas don't get along. Especially the parts about him getting disbarred as a lawyer. And it's not like there are 10 tons of gay people in Kansas for him to complain about.

You do realize that by having an anti-protest you're actually helping to give this nut the publicity he so deeply desires. I'm sure I'm not alone in having no idea who this guy was before reading this thread.

Phelps is the one guy that is on my hate list. If he does not appreciate what this country and its soldiers have done, than he should go somewhere else, preferably China or North Korea.

I've been told this many, many times. My resolve is still strongly against Phelps. By being there; especially in a cardboard+duct tape costume, I'm hoping to steal media attention away from Phelps. Not only that, but he's accused us of being a hateful community. In showing up to defend our high school (though I never attended there), we will show him that we're a community who CARES.
