1. a)Gas lighters can be incredibly effective for botched hot glue jobs. If there is a noticeable amount of tension in one area that is warping your pep, warming the glue with a lighter can help loosen it up.

b) Use a lighter to melt off all the strands of glue that gather around, they always seem to get tangled around my other pieces of cut cardstock if i don't melt them.

c) On longer tabs or tight spaces that you have made poor glue connections a lighter is more effective then the tip of your glue gun at loosening them up, it wont leave those yellow burnt glue stains if your sensible with it.

2. Using a small fan to cool your glue gun will stop the glue from softening at the top which usually makes it hard to feed the stick through. (My climate is a little to warm to let the gun cool itself.)

Just though i'd post, maybe someone might not have thought of this...

Please don't blame me if you set your work on fire... This method works fantastic for me, the hot glue takes not time at all to soften...

good tips for somebody new to peping there work, though i have lit my project on fire using this method i can see how it would work for someone more careful.

What lb paper were you using?
I have 210gsm/ 120lb

If you were using lighter paper it would have heated too fast to melt the glue...
Or perhaps your intentions were to burn it???, someone on youtube burnt his pep because he used superglue and made a mistake :S

I don't mean to offend, but those are terrible tips if they involve using a lighter/open flame near something made of cardboard.

Ideally, it's better to just take ones time to get good glue joints, but in the even that an error is made, I think a much better (though more expensive) alternative to a lighter is a heat gun. And even then, if you only make a few minor errors, these can usually be fixed just fine with Bondo.
