So I just got back from staying at a condo in Hilton Head, while I was there I was watching tv and trying to go to sleep one night. I came across a show called Cathouse... how is that legal? And even if someone can explain how that's legal... how do they air it on tv? I know it's HBO but that made my jaw drop for a sec. I know the MAX channels have erotic shows on almost every night but those aren't hookers...

HBO and a few other "networks" have shown that kind of thing for years. They have to air it during certain timeframes. It'll open your eyes if you've never seen that sort of programming before.

the probably can show it, because it's slightly factual, which means they can class it as a documentary (hell, the BBC Top Gear is classed as a factual show  ).

over here (europe), there's similar stuff, basically you can show most stuff after 12 o'clock. but then the internet is far worse anyway, so who cares?

Europe in general has more liberal standards for broadcast than the U.S. has. We have the FCC which regulates what you can show, when you can show it, and what you can say. George Carlin had the "seven words you can't say on tv" which is still (unfortunately) very true. I remember seeing mostly naked women on German tv while I was over there. Personally, the U.S. needs to catch up with the rest of the world. You see or hear about this thing every day (be it porn or a magazine or some other way) so let it be. Broadcast it (in a certain time slot) and be done with it. There is no getting away from it.

I always wondered wy people in the US cant flame on tv. Wy do they have to beep it.

Cathouse is about the bunny ranch outside las vegas, where prostitution is legal. To answer your question.
