yo hope this the right spot to post, new to armorsmith, bad at software. been skimming through the internet, trying to find a way to disable the scaling issues im having with armorsmith

every time i enter in a measurement it changes something like my height, and then if i change that, it changes a bunch of other things

i havent been able to really find a solid answer on this issue, most tutorials just dont mention this as an issue, or people are online just joking about the problem, but no info on solving it

Hey there, glad you're here!
Can you send a photo of what area you are changing your height at?

Kind regards,
_____Kae

I'm also having a very similar issue, every time I change one of the dimensions for my head it changes all of them and creates a monstrosity

well let it never be said that u arent big brained
honestly im gonna try to trust the process a little, i took all the measurements in order and wrote each one down

and starting from my height set first, im gonna enter everything in and see what the outcome is, but def would recommend writing the measurements down. i already had to do all of them twice

You can't change physics or geometry.
A + B + C + D + E = F
If you change F, something somewhere from A to E must be wrong and will need to be corrected.

The biggest flaw (to me) of Armorsmith is that it lets you change **summed totals** like overall height. That should be a read-only field. Same with total leg, total arm and so on.

If you change your total height, of course it has to change other things to make that work. If you make yourself taller but it didn't change other numbers what would happen: Your head pops off and there's a gap between neck and head? I mean, that extra height had to come from someplace.

Same kinda thing happens for diameters like your head or waist. You can't double your head depth without the circumference changing: Something has to give to make up that extra.

I suggest you work from the feet up (just like building your armor).
  • Floor to ankle
  • ankle to knee
  • knee to hip
  • lower torso height
  • upper torso height
  • neck
  • head
All of that is your total height. If it does not add up to your total height DON'T CHANGE THE TOTAL. Double check your smaller figures and adjust until they add up correctly to your total.

Its just like balancing your checkbook. If you have 10 checks that should equal your balance, and they don't, you can't just change the balance and tell the bank they're wrong. You have to go back and find the bad entry.
