Armour Attaching

Hi All,

I had an idea about attaching armour to the body and wanted thoughts. My plan was to have something universal that can be used across different builds where you can easily swap out different pieces of armour. The idea starts with getting some Bib and Brace Overalls and then using a system of having snap buttons added into the overalls. This will mean that you can then attach these same snap buttons to armour and them you can switch in and out different leg armour easily. Same goes for belt and lower chest armour. Then when it comes to putting it on, you just put the overalls on and 60% of your cosplay is done in one swoop.

Thoughts?

Hiding the overalls might be hard. And different armors are going to have different exposed areas. ODST and Spartan MK-VI for example won't have the same coverage.

I think many of us use morph suits or UnderArmor type sports wear under our armor. The armor isn't actually attached to the undersuit as it would never take the weight.

If you look at my MK-VI there's very little that needs help or is attached to anything.
The back hangs from my shoulders.
The chest connects to the back. Together the torso just hangs on my body.

Belt goes around the waist.
Thighs hang from the belt by straps.
Shins just wrap around the legs.
Boots are boots.

Gloves are gloves
Forearms don't need any attachment.
Shoulders are strapped to the back armor at the shoulders.

So... the only strapping is the thighs and shoulders. Nothing else needs it.
