hey guys i haven't been on in what seems like forever.
i wasn't exactly sure whether this should be posted in the classified or discussion about crafting.
i am making an Altair costume and stumbled upon this video on a tutorial to make a hidden blade, the only problem is i don't have the time right now to make it and i was wondering if anyone could use said video to make me one. i would but right now my time is pretty much packed and i haven't had as much time to make any of the props ive thought of making. if you could watch the video and maybe give me a rough estimate on pricing for it (in pm of course)
it would be greatly appreciated.
i can also give my forearm length to the person who wishes to construct it.
hopefully this can also help other assassins creed fanatics out there who want to make a hidden blade

cool tutorial but he excluded how to lock the thing and is it retractable or do you have to manually retract it with your other hand? I'd like an AC blade of my own but i want THIS! cuz it retracts, too bad he never released any blueprints but its based on an OTF switchblade design...which is unfortunately illegal so even if he made his plastic not so sure if that would be pushing it or not. but this guy here does a pretty good job too

i do realy like that one, i would also like this design too, im just kinda looking for the hidden blade part, i already have a gauntlet made, i can post pics at a later time as i am in class right now

Too bad neither of them account for the telescoping sheath of the hidden blade. It's easy to design when you take that factor out. It's basically just a daotf with a pull string then.

yea i guess but what i would do if at all possible is to look at the diagram sheet that ezio gave to da vinci in brother hood it should be possible i think

tommorrow after classes i will post my proggress on my altair costume, i have to say that everything is going along great with it so far.

That image from the game is vague and not at all accurate. Do you really think the game devs are going to put instructions on how to build a deadly weapon into one of their games? >:/

To build this thing the way it looks and acts in-game is not entirely impossible. It's just really complicated. More so than any simple crafter can achieve. Trust me, I've worked on a computer model design of one already. The parts are just way to small and complex to make with anything other than a 3d prototyper/printer.

I'd say you're better off just making the gauntlet and making a solid decorative facade of the blade mech housing for the costume. It's also safer that way anyway.

look don't get fired up it was just a suggestion what i was saying is if you haven't noticed the spring mechanism that exposes the blade has and accordion kind of a scissor crossbar system i will post what i mean soon enough

Now listen here carefully so you don't get all butt hurt this time around. I wasn't getting fired up. If anyone needs to relax, it may be you bud. All I'm saying is that all the design possibilities in regards to how that in-game design relates to the blade's actual operation have been through my noggin', and I've discussed it all at length with many knowledgeable others. We were all in agreement that the 'design' in the game doesn't/wouldn't work. Not in the simplistic sense it is represented anyway. There's missing details from it in other words.

Now intellectually, it's a neat project to figure out and design. Building it is a bit impractical for costuming as it will be considered a real weapon. My suggestion is to merely forgo the frustration of figuring it out and focus on the aesthetics instead. It's simpler and safer for all.

PS - This >:/ was actually to be read as this :rolleyes, but I didn't feel like bothering to find right code to type.

I'm starting to again remember why I don't visit/post on this site much anymore.
