Best kind of Material to use?

I'm brand new to the forums, but played all the games and stuff. Ive been debating what stuff to use for the Assault Rifle and Brute Spiker im going to attempt to build. What should i use? Styrofoam? Cardboard and Fiberglass? All 3? idk what to use. HELP! :$ops:
