I tried searching several different strings but no luck. Does anyone know what LED's/Sockets/Lenses he uses in his helmets? They look more like lenses (nice and wide) and less like standard LED's in sockets. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated...
Sorry - I thought that the BlueRealm in the title was enough. Yes - I'm taking about Devin but since I really don't know him personally, I wasn't comfortable using his given name...
They are definitely lense covers, I believe he had mentioned it in his thread on theRpf.
He never gave a source or part number, but they are included on his fully finished helmets, so you might be able to get some info out of him.
Thanks for the help - those lights on Jab-Tech look like a step in the right direction. If the cylinder encasing the LED is solid, I may be able to contour the end and re-polish it. I know that Devin is pressed for time right now so I didn't want to bother him with this if I could help it. Thanks again and keep up the great ideas...
I am not saying this is what he uses... but the lens appears to be the same in both shape and size... This one is blue, but they come in several colors... the bulb assembly removes from the back and you could modify it for and LED... or just use the bulb thats pre wired in it, your battery configuration will need to change, and they wont last as long as with LEDs.
Yes I have seen the lenses in person, and yes I went to radio shack that same day... I'm saying, they may not be exact... but they are DANG close if you find the right color.
@Adam - Those look like they may be the ticket and apparently Mouser is a distributor for the product line - I may have to pick some up and give them a try...
@Spase - I didn't find anything that interesting when I looked at RatShack. I got so caught up in looking for LEDs that I forgot to search for traditional lamps or bulbs - nice catch! I'll try to swing by later and take a look...
When it comes to freaky AV bits and pieces, I know where to look, but even with the internet trying to find one diamond in a pile of junk is tough. Thanks for all the help - I'll find them somewhere and let everyone know when I do...
