Small notice: We've got a theme week in our school in about 2 weeks for our gradutaion, and childhood heroes is one of the themes, so Master Chief instantly came to my mind. Problem was: I only had about 3 weeks of total time. Thankfully the theme week got pushed back by a week and childhood heroes is on a Friday, so that means extra time for me. That sadly still doesn't fix my slight problem: I have absolutely ZERO experience with armor building, let alone painting it or vac froming visors or whatever, so basically what you see me doing here is all just random stuff someone does if he doesn't have a clue of what he's doing, great, am I right?

Printed "a few" more pieces

Starting to fix the god awful torso with dpot putty

Holy hell that thing is actually huge (man I'd like to get told that for once)

Starting to prime everything with filler primer

Cutting battle damage into the armor with an angle grinder

Propping Master Primer up on a redneck armor stand (we called him Hubert)

Hubert fell over armor in shambles A lotta hot glue went into fixing these parts, actually insane. Every part that was on Hubert somehow snapped or tore between layers or joints. Not a fun time :(

Got Chief fixed up and did some more battle damage, first layer of black on the chestplate is on. I'm not gonna sand it down again anyways, am I right? (foreshadowing)

After I realized the frame for my vac table V1 was too big for our oven me and bro had to rebuild the entire vac setup lmao

Dyed with iDye Poly Orange

Butchered with mirror foil, anyone got some tips on how I could attach it to the visor so it won't look this crappy?

Testing the main green tone (RAL 6013) and weathering on the gloves. Don't worry, I gotta unstick the hand protectors because I gotta use different gloves. Man I really am not planning this through huh?

Warcrime of the day: I'll put a detachable grapple hook on the Halo 3 MKVI

In sun I'd say so far I made good progress, considering it's only been about two weeks or so, I'll keep updating!

Oh yeah and also, before you wonder what is hanging around MC's neck when he was in Hubert, it's a dogtag by armydogtags I believe, I entered the Chief's values (imperial and metric) and put a Cortana chip on the chain that my friend printed:

After letting the resin harden I painted the back piece now. Really love how it looks now, especially after the weathering and all the battle damage

I'm planning on putting blue reflective paint where the shield generator are since I don't wanna cut up the pieces to add room for LEDs and diffusor sheets

Started with painting the shins, forearms and biceps. I think it's coming along pretty well so far! For the edge weathering I used a toothbrush, a brass wire brush for 3D scratch effects and some silver acrylic paint

What amazing build speed. Blink and you'll miss it.
I can understand what it is like to crunch to get it ready by a timeline. I can't wait to see the finished product, but I wonder what kind of changes you feel like doing after you are done. I know that every time I rush to complete something I miss out on the friction points coming out during the build and then I need to go back fix and upgrade the project.

Are there any specific things you have already encountered that you know you are not going to be able to complete in time but want to improve later?

Definitely, I'm planning on redoing the visor and adding electronics to the suit, those being lights for the helmet and the shield generators and fans in the helmet. Might also add some electromagnets to the back and thigh for weapon holsters

Today's build progress was absolutely insane! Got the helmet, backpiece and COD piece done and padded out, gonna paint the chestplate tomorrow and add some elastic straps in the leg pieces to hold em together

Edit: Oh yeah and the visor is just held in place with duct tape for now since I wanna redo the visor at some point
