ok so i just confirmed my ride to VGXPO (american videogame expo) on saturday. but i havent bought tickets yet. ive heard that buying advance online is better, but i dont exatly understand how it works. do they ship them to you? or do you print them? or do you pick them up on site? i dont know if i should order them if they ship them since its so soon im wrried they wont ship in time. anyone know what to do?

With almost every con, when you pre-register, buy your pass ahead of time, you still have to pick it up on site. Most cons will have two lines at registration, one line for pre-registration, and one line for on site registration, buy your pass on site. The good thing about pre-registering is that the line should technically be shorter and move much faster as your pass is already printed and the paper work is filled out, and all you need to do is show an ID to pick up your pass. A lot of cons also will open up the pre-reg line earlier than the on site registration.
But I am not sure how this specific con works. Does it say anywhere on thier website about when you purchase the pass if you have to pick it up?
I would still definitely pre-reg/buy your pass ahead of time, and worse case scenario, plan on standing in the pre-reg line.

Haha, the last convention i went to the pay for line was getting in faster than the pre reg line... but that would only ever happen in australia... and the lines were short.
As the other have said, pre reg, if its a VIP ticket they will probably post it to you, but for normal tickets, just pick then up on the day.
But it does vary depending on the convention, i suggest contacting the convention officials.

well ive searched the site, and it hasnt said anything about how the tickets are given to you...maybe ive just been missing it, but either way, im buying tickets tonight. i dont want to wait on lines. im not getting VIP because i cant afford it....i spent all my money on resin.... :rolleyes oh and is anyone else going to this?
