Hi,

I have started working on my first weapon project and decided to share some of my work with you guys.

I started working on a Battle rifle which i have made using some cereal boxes and regular cardboard boxes.

As you will propably notice, im not doing a Halo 3 BR since i like the Halo 2 design better, im sort of making a mix between the WETA and the Halo 2 version,

Heres some of the pictures i used for reference:

I will get something similiar for the scope:

I still have alot of work to do with bondo and sanding so that i can get all the details out of the BR, i will post progress as i proceed with this project.

Thanks alot for any comments and criticism you guys have :)

I will make a paintjob with dark gun metal and black as seen in the 2nd reference image.

EDIT: Im propably going to cut the handle off and put it back in to make it look more like a seperate piece found on the images.

This looks great. My hats off to you for such a good looking battle rifle. I like that design as well. I'll keep watching your progress.

People always create new threads titled, "my kardbowrd __[insert part here]__". And every single time, I cringe. But you know what? This isn't half bad. I rather like it. Good work.

Small update, got the barrel fitted in, will add the tip detail later on...

And a photoshop of the weapon with a scope.

Please comment and criticise!

It's a very nice build. A lot better than something I would have done with bondo. The fact that I wouldn't undertake one already takes care of that...

With that said, you wanted critique, I'll give you critique.

Your barrels seem bent. I'm looking at the picture and I see a curve from the tip to the stock. There should be crisper lines all over. I see a lot of inconsistencies that a machined piece wouldn't have. Such as a the cooling vents on top of the barrel. They aren't holes that go through in the images but yours are. TO put it in other words, they don't have a cover.

One big thing that gets to me more than the cripness of the lines is the overall smoothness of the piece. It's still has all that unsanded surface that looks unfinished.

are you going to be using an actual scope? if so, lots of airsoft dealers will have some for good prices

Here are some more pictures, i'm really getting close on finishing this project.

I was wondering if i should mold my BR? I would be able to add a few details with clay, not achievable (harder atleast) with bondo.

I'm familiar with silicone moldmaking, I'm just thinking if it where cost effective?

Here are the latest pictures, still have alot of work on fixing a few curved shapes, but it's almost done! :D

Enjoy! I'm still open for comments, I need your help to make it as perfect as I can!!!

LAIR THAT NOT CARDBOARd. You met master cheif and he gave it to you for free. In other words it is awesom.

Looks awesome. You did a good sanding job because your lines look a lot cleaner. The finger guard could still use some work.

Is there some gap between the body of the weapon and the "support" piece underneath the barrel? If so, I would fill it to make it look like the "support " piece (Don't know the exact word for it) looks like it's attached over the barrel. It might be a weird way of explaning what I mean but I think the image is pretty clear and strong. I think the support piece should be more like a hot dog bun holding the hot dog than something stuck underneath the barrel.

Very good work. You should definitely mold this.
