I think my Christmas present to myself this year will be a some clay, but after looking at the chavant clay, I dont know what hardness I want. What does Bluerealm use and which do you think is the best for modeling all part of the armor?

PS: sorry if this has been posted, my search yielded nothing

I'm in the same boat as you :$ I found these:

BlueRealms MasterChief helmet
http://www.bluerealmstudios.com/2009/04/10/sculpting-a-helmet-the-master-cheif-project/

And this is a pretty good site:
TheEffectsLab.com :: View topic - beginning sculpting setup

And with no definitive answer to witch firmness of clay is best I said F***K it I'll get the medium. (BlueRealm also used medium)

P.S
7.50$ a pound, it's in Texas though so shipping price might be too much.
NSP (Non Sulfurated Plasteline) - 2 lb block

From experience I would recommend the hard. Once you heat it up it'll spread on real nice and then once it cools it carves and shaves with clay tools like a charm. Then you can smooth it out with a small brush dipped in WD40.

After using the Medium for a bit I'm really digging it, It's not hard at all to work with if you use a Hotbox with a 40Wat bulb. it can also be worked at room temperature with your thumbs for smoothing it a little.

I'll have to get some of the Hard stuff sometime.
