Behold all that is Kongar-ol Ondar. A Tuvan Throat singer, He can sing a 4 note harmony all by himself.

Its an older vid, but its amazing nonetheless.

From what I understand, he achieves this by singing 2 notes in his lower throat, then he sings a normal note on top of that, then on top of that he makes an overtone by using his tounge against the roof of his mouth like a reed.

When I went on vacation to the Smoky Mountains over the past summer, my grandmother took us to a folk concert (yeah, she has a cabin in a folk village, but I love going up there for a week or so once every year or so), and they did something similar to this, just not as good. I think he only did two or three notes, but he did mention the man in the video.

It's really awesome to hear in person, as was the entire concert, to my surprise. :p

Another thing to put on the list of stuff I can't and will never be able to do.

Nifty :p

What he said. Dude, that's freaking AWESOME! I spent soooo many nights thinking about things, and one of them was whether it was possible to sing two different pitches at once... and this guy does FOUR! That's godly.

I believe Mikael Akerfeldt can do 2 tone/pitches at one time while Growling (a form of singing). I'm not sure though....

Someone check out the song Blackwater Park by Opeth and tell me what they think about the dual voice growl in the middle of the song.
