Now that I have finished my Warhammer Space Marine its time to start a Spartan. I'm torn as to which armor to make. I really like the Recon armor.......however, Master Chief's chest looks easier to me. Whichever I choose to do I want to go with my own colors (black and grey) and I would like to use Spartan number 0122. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Are there rules on what Spartan numbers I can use?

Oh, and the reason I can get started is my goodies showed up.

72 6 packs of 3/8" foam mats.

FD, I know currently with the costume group side, we will be allowing Recruits to choose their Spartan IDs (albeit the famous numbers like 117, and 087. But you honestly need to do what YOU want to do.

My whole spiel is "if it is Halo canon, its alright by me!" so make it look like it did come from Halo, and not a weird intergenre hybrid and you are good to hook.

But I like the Recon armor alot, doing Emile's suit myself, but I'd say try not to mix too many different sets of armor types, where its unrecognizable. But thats just my opinion!

BTW, we need a Colorado/Denver build party soon....

I envy you, sir! With that phat stack I mightn't leave my shop for days!
I'm a big fan of you warhammer suit, so I'm eagerly anticipating this build. It's been a while since I saw a good recon chest so I'm kind of pulling for that, haha. You're deffinitley someone with the skill set to pull it off. :thumbsup

You would think with that pile of supplys that you were building suits for a squad or two.

Ok then I'd like to claim Spartan 0122 as Father Damien. And I think Im gonna go for the Recon armor set. The wife seems partial to Master Chief's armor so I'll probably end up building both.

Thank you for the compliments. I'll try not to disappoint.

Well, I got a really good buy on it. And I do have all the pep files for a HulkBuster suit. The legs alone on that build when I get to it are 5' tall.

That's a ton of foam. What's normal for one suit?

Not sure for a Halo suit. But, my space marine armor took around 4-5 of these packs or 24-30 mats. Each of those boxes contain six packs of six mats. So, on that pallet there are 432 mats. I could build my space marine armor around 14 times with all that foam.

The only reason I bought so much of it is, I work at an Ace store and get a really good discount on the stuff. Also, in order to get free shipping I had to order at least this much.

Heh, I agree with your sentiment, canon is sacred and to be held above everything else. But Reach, mixing and matching parts became a bit more realistic. Much like Halsey originally intended, MJOLNIR development wasn't defined by iterations, but rather was a continuous process of largely reverse-compatible pieces numerated by landmark improvements.

As such, if I ever get around to building a set of foam MJOLNIR (which would be after my ODST and probably a revisit to the NCR Ranger), I'm probably going to do something Jorge inspired. Basically a different set of pieces with similar shin/forearm/collar modifications. And a big-ass gun. Also, I'd probably use the Halo 3 Rogue helmet and call it a "prototype" or something because whatever.

Anyway, OP, thats a hell of a lot of foam. Wish I had a fraction of that much stuff laying around. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
