Hello 405th,
I have a challenge for anyone willing to take on the task.
I found an old thumb drive of mine that has asset rips of the Reach ODST (I also have the reach Marine if anyone is interested) in the obj format. I have very little understanding of how to 3d model and i require some help. I am trying to get Accurate 3d models of the complete suit to 3d print. These assets started as the base shape and the detail came from the overlapping textures in game. Using Sketchup I was able to add in the rough details to all of the models that resemble the textures. I believe what is left to do is take these models into blender and "smooth" out the model while keeping all the hard edges. This task is above my expertise and that is where I need the help of the community.
I am a perfectionist and would like to see a complete, Detailed, game accurate build modeled DIRECTLY off of the in game assets. If anyone is up to the task we can get deep into the weeds of discussing which details and how to go about adding them.
Here are the files I found on my thumb drive.
I don't recall where I originally got these files as this drive is from 2013
(if anyone wants to turn these OBJ files into PDO and unfold them be my guest)
The file includes:
Helmet
Base Chest Armor
Base Abs
Gauntlets
Shin
Thigh (called NXRA)
Here are the Files I have already added details to.
Meet Google Drive – One place for all your files
Detailing completed/ Smoothing needed for the Following:
Helmet
Base Chest
Base abs
Shin
Thigh (NXRA)
Shoulder
(more to be added)
All of the detailed files have been sliced in half and will be mirrored once completed.
If you feel that the details need to be tweaked let's have a discussion so that I can improve the design before we get the files print ready.
please help
