Difficulty Shield Guitar Hero X-Plorer

I've been thinking about moding my guitar controller into a difficulty shield with the combat knife for the neck. But before I most likely screw up, has anyone ever opened their guitar controller? Are the parts easy to remove and place in a different shell?

If I go through with this, I'll make it out of fiberglassed cardboard, and maybe make a mold to sell as a conversion kit.

well there should be a board for the buttons and a bigger one for the strum and effects. obviously connected by wires

Well you need some knowledge of solder.

What would I need to solder? I'm only modding the case.

Why use your guitar hero guitar when you could just cut out the shape in a board of plywood? Thats just me though.

yeah, you can use wood and transfer everything over

I might just make the shield and fit the guitar in it.
