in my signature, theres a guy who makes them.

I bought one and it was really well done, and great price.

they come in a variety of colors and numbers.

Ok. I was meaning standard style numbers like 12 rather than the blocky numbers. I would like to keep it as close to the game as possible.

Have you tryed "Dustin Westaby" This guy has all the ammo counter kits that you could hope for. you can even select the starting number that the counter counts down from, also the color, and so much more.

the link to his online store is poster below. I hope this helps you out. Good luck to you.

It's not that confusing, you could always put a screen over the Ammo counder display so it looks right with having the numbers rounded off on the edges. Also if you look at the Dmr really close the numbers are still a little blockish like. Thats just my idea, I don't know if it's good or not but it's what i got.

Now that i think of it you right. It would only work for some of the numbers. Thats really the only idea I have right now thats not that hard to do.Sorry I was not a bigger help. I can try to find something that works by tomarrow if you want my to.

Andrew.

I will try my best to find something, but I cant be sure if i will find what you are looking for. never the less I will do my best.

Huh? What counter? And it probably should be your own topic, taking over topics is naughty.

Probably one of the kits. And yes.

Anyways, I was thinking about a LCD screen set-up but the processor and such would be a bit too large.

Or a rotating counter. . . Have a motor spin a wheel numbered from 00 to 12. . . one again, too bulky, and not very accurate to the game.

Or a projector with mirrors set-up. But once again, too bulky.

Well, as much as I'd love to see it happen, I don't see a way. The only way you will be able to make a 100% accurate to the game ammo counter is with complex processors and computers. And to be honest, I don't really know if you will be able to do that.

The most accurate and easy way you will be able to do it would be one of thatdecade's counters. If you haven't already noticed, you are able to choose the ammo count, colour and the fire type.

And of course, the free version will be the graphic I mentioned.

yay! forums back up and I'm here.

Yes, I do have displays in most colors. Back when I was designing my counter I experimented with lots of colors, have a look:

I use standard cheap off the shelf 7 segment display part in the ammo counters I make. 7 segment displays work well because they are run by just 7 LEDs. If the display is not "blocky" then the display will require more than 7 segments to illuminate the number properly.

Spartan062, like you suggested, another way of making a display with a different font is to use a graphical display with a several 100 pixels. Color cell phone displays are inexpensive and can be controlled via serial wire. The control processor for serial control is tiny.
