So I'm planning to build my first Covenant armor, which of course is an Elite, but more specifically an Honor Guard Elite as seen in Halo 2. This is my second set of armor (I'll try to post pictures soon of my first Mark V armor that I made for Halloween) and I will soon be posting pictures in this thread, but at the moment I do not have any. I'll be starting after I finish a Halo airsoft turret (pictures will be up soon) so be sure to check that out too! Anyways, back to the Elite, I have most of the stuff planned out, but I'm still confused on how to make good-looking Elite hands while retaining full functionality (i.e. picking things up, moving the finger easily...) Can somebody please help me on this?

As I said before, WIP pictures will be posted soon in this thread.

Please reply! All help is appreciated!

Hopefully pictures will be up within the next week, maybe less! And also, I forgot to mention, the Energy Sword will be plexiglass with blue LEDs, and a frosted effect using spraypaint, and etched in with a dremel tool will be energy-looking lines, so light will shine through. I'll make a seperate thread showing what I mean if you want to know (basically a tutorial thread.)

Check out my thread. http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/35707-Making-a-Halo-Arbiter-Costume
There are some videos on it that show my elite hands. They dont pick things up well but that is mostly because of the material I used for the fingers. A sturdier material would probably do the job.

I wouldn't necessarily make the energy sword out of plexiglass. From what I've read and seen here, it tends to be a bit brittle at the points and snaps off if swung flat at all. See if you can find Lexan. That stuff is a bit more dense while still being relatively flexible. Stronger material is always a good way to go.

As for the hands being able to hold the sword, with better material for the fingers, and the "thumb" situated a little differently than what Logiwan992 has, I think it can be done.

Can't wait to see your progress pics man. This is definately going to be an interesting build.
