Experimenting with different materials?

Curious to see if any of you have been trying new things to get amazing detail in their pepakura. For example, I messed up the bondo on my helmet. Too many imperfections. But i found that patching plaster works wonders for filling in those imperfections. Finding i'm getting not only a smooth surface but it really easy to carve small angles and details.

I've noticed the plaster can be quite brittle. But a applied a thin coat of plasti dip last night to the base. It gave it quite a bit of strength.
