The pods race through the clouds, fire flying off them like a forest fire. There is a sudden jolt and the pods crash into a courtyard. The odst squad jump out through the crumbles of the pods. Jumping out of their pods, in a blur of motion, they check their corners. They all signal all clear, and once satisfied, the squad leader gives the command. They double time their charge up the stairs.
With the squad leader up front he signals the squad to halt. Then he quickly signs, breach and clear. He then points to Carlos and signs, Take Point. Carlos nods. The team gets in position. The Squad Leader kicks the door off its hinges and Carlos charges through, his M7 sub machine gun raised. He clicks his throat mic twice, the all clear signal, and the squad follow him into the auditorium.
Carlos runs across the auditorium, covering the distance in less then 15 seconds. He pulls up at the door leading into the alleyway. The door creaks as Carlos slowly opens it, checking the alleyway before jumping out. He signals the squad to follow him and he creeps towards the edge of the building. He signals the team to halt.
Peeking around the corner, he ducks his head back just in time. Limestone bricks shatter where his head just was. Another three rounds pierce the spot, the last one smacking through the brick wall and narrowly missing the now crouching squad. Carlos glances at the squad leader, who signs a simple command. Flash, Cover and Suppress threat.
Carlos counts down from three, using his fingers to show the squad where he is up to. Pulling the pin he throws his flash bang around the corner. The dull bang is heard, Carlos pops around the corner, M7 raised and pointed at where he thought the sniper was. The squad double time it into a building opposite. Carlos holds his stance before hearing a double click in the comm system, the all clear signal. Firing a triple round burst, he drops and rolls and sprints for his life towards the building his squad now occupied.
As soon as Carlos is in the building the two other members of the squad, Paul and David, rush upstairs, searching the rest of the building. Within 30 seconds, screaming is heard, closely followed by four dull thuds. Four more gunshots, and the all clear was heard through the comms. The Squad Leader pops up, DMR raised and fires another triple burst at the snipers position. This time a scream is heard and the rebel sniper team is down.
"Command, this is the Teardrops, rebel sniper team in grid 13x23 are down send in fire teams Alpha, Omega, Zulu."
"This is command, fire teams inbound. Tears, I want you to link up with 2nd and 7th squad, odst battalion 405th. Push into the city square, capture the target and neutralize all threats. You have tactical command of the situation. Shoot to kill in effect. Show no mercy. Code name, Cat after Rat is in effect. May God be with you." Cat after Rat? the squad leader though? That's definitely not good. Changing his comm channel back to his squad the squad leader says
"Cat after Rat is in effect. Shoot to kill. We have to save 2nd and 7th squads. We are to capture our target and neutralize any enemies. Show no mercy. Lets move!"
As the squad all reload and check their weapons, the ground shudders. The dull thud of titanium falling through the sky signals the arrival of Fire teams Alpha, Omega And Zulu.
"I Said MOVE IT!" shouts the Squad Leader.
