Fiber Glassing Mistake - Start Over?

When I fiber glassed my two calf pieces, I assumed that the cylindrical shape of them would be enough for them to hold their original shape. I was wrong. Now, if you look at them from the front, one looks quite a bit thicker then the other. Do I have to redo one or does anyone have some crazy method for bending dried fiber glass?

Please, I already know I'm a dummy so there is no need for those types of comments. ;)

Thanks!

The Q&A team is here to help. Just off hand, there isn't a way to bend cured fiberglass. The polyester resin used is a thermosetting resin that is rigid once it sets, unlike a thermoplastics that can be reheated and moved (polystyrene and PVC come to mind.) Without pictures there's no real way of knowing what sort of repair would be needed.

I figured I would post a few images of what I have been working on. I'm still an extreme noob, not to mention I am working as quickly as I can to have this ready for Halloween. I wish I had started in the spring instead of a month ago.

Left one is MUCH thicker than the right one.

Figured I would try a gun for the fun of it. Used expanding foam and only added a tiny amount each day. Wish I had weighted it as others had suggested but I guess I can still do that with a couple metal rods.

All of my pieces are resined on the outside and half are fiber glassed. Any suggestions?

dont really see many things wrong, what id do with the resind peices is make some braces before you continue fiberglassing, and if theres anywarps start over real quick on just that peice :/

look fine to me, Exactly they look better then fine.
But the left is a little thick didn't you look before fiberglassing

LOL. No, I didn't look before glassing that piece. Lesson learned.

Yes, I started using braces after the first few pieces, wish I had done that sooner. :(

My question i guess is why would u resin low res ones.
I only use these for scale testing.

There's another type? :p

I started this project from another source and then found these forums afterwards. It's unfortunate as I had already started most of the pieces so I was not going to redo them. I plan to use mud to add more detail, I hope it works out.

I feel I've made a bunch of mistakes so perhaps I will start a "Mistakes I made, Don't repeat them" thread once I am done. :D
