ok today is my day off and I'm resining and fiberglassing 2 helments both fs peps his newest one and the one before that. Now Im fairly new at fiberglassing so I went off and bought the cloth instead of the mat because I didnt know the difference till now. So that leaves me with a whole lot of cloth that I just dont want to throw away. now Im sure all you that have used cloth know that it is mesy, strings all over the place and it sticks to your cloves when trying to put it on blah you get my point. well I did something today that really helped and came out excellent I dont know if anyone else has tried this so I hope Im not repeating someone else.
1. get your first layer of resin in the inside of your helm.
2. let it dry almost completely
3. take your cloth and cut it with a razer knife less mess than sissors
4. take your hot glue gun put spots of glue where your piece is going
5. put the piece in and you dont have use glove since resin is dry
6. and repeat for all your peices the cloth goes in smooth and is ready for resin
7. mix your resin remember 7 drops of hardener per table spoon of resin
8. take your brush ( a big one ) and dab is on dont brush it on till it starts to get harder
9. once all the coth is covered take a smaller brush and push down all the little stuff that is poking out and that way when it hardens there is less stuff to sand off and when its dry its almost pefect.
hope this helps
