Finishing my first Spartan (sort of).

And another small update.
The torso is really close to being finished. I need to put the straps on it and get it sealed and painted. I also made some quick knee pads and shoulders (not pictured currently).

Looking good! I agree that the "half-done" skirt variant was still an awseome look. I love the couple's cosplay you and Ten have going on. Hopefully we can have some group things here in the Old Pueblo in the near future.

Another small update. Things have been crazy so I have yet to seal and paint (in some cases repaint) my armor. BUT I do have a new helmet.
It's a foam JFO variant built by Ten a few months ago when he was out here for Phoenix Comic Con.

That helmet is.... AWESOME! Really superb. Can't wait to see it painted.

Isn't it? I'm so beyond ecstatic to have it. It's actually been sealed since those photos were taken, and if it quits raining I'll hopefully make some headway with painting things this weekend.

Do you have any WIP photos on that JFO helmet? Also, was it made with pep> I know that Ivan11200 was looking for a way to do that helmet in foam..

Okay! Some updates. The JFO was used for the shoots/events that I had it for, and I'm actually going to be retiring this suit and making a new and much improved version in the near future. I don't know if there's much sense trying to sell it, so it will likely just be kept for my own sentiment. I have a few more pictures and a lighting test video as well.

Progress updates: (Hoping these videos work.)

And as far as questions go...

How long did it take you to paint your pieces / how many coats of paint?

Honestly, half the pieces only had one coat due to lack of time.

I got that, but does the person who made it maybe have any info?

My boyfriend at the time gave it to me, actually. You can find him if you search for Ten D. Motomochi on facebook, and I believe there are some progress photos on there as well. If you've got any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Great lighting on the helmet. Did you use a simple cable and switch set up or did you get fancy and go wireless?

It's just a small string of lights. The whole thing was pulled together an evening before a con, so I didn't get too complex with it. None of it was even properly secured, haha.

for the amount of time you had, your suit came out great.
